Five Facts About Me
- I am a SAHM, wife, Photographer, Choreographer and former Professor from Grand Valley State University.
- We live in a beautiful state, and I love the exploring all Michigan has to offer.
- Autumn is my favorite season, hands down.
- When I can find the time, I play piano, guitar and sing opera with Opera Grand Rapids.
- I do not drink caffeinated drinks, nor have I have ever made a pot of coffee.
Family Life as a DeWitt Mom
My husband, Drew, and I have three vibrant children: Claire (born in December of 2015), Will (born in April of 2017), and Dean (born in December of 2018). Yes, we were blessed to have three children in three years! Our days are filled with snacks upon snacks, energetic playtime, school work/books time, competitive sports, dance parties and music jams. Time can be a thief, yet I often remind myself to soak in all the moments.
Career
I obtained an Associate of Music as well as a Bachelors Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, TN in 2009. While living in Nashville, I had an assortment of jobs as a touring backup dancer, background vocals, keyboard player, and dance instructor. Michigan has always been my home base, so I moved back after 7 years and was a Professor of Dance in the Movement Science Department at Grand Valley State University. I later, met my husband and moved to DeWitt and welcomed our first child in 2015. Since being a Mom is a full time job, creative outlets were difficult to schedule. My solution was to create my own. I formed and coached a Competitive Dance Team at DeWitt High School and serve as the resident choreographer for Music Department. My love for photography sprouted once we had kids. I started my business Amber Rose Photography LLC in 2019 and I truly love capturing memories.
