Introducing Liz Reed

Hello Lansing Moms! My name is Liz and I am so excited to be here! I am a Lansing native and lived in the surrounding Lansing areas my entire life. Grand Ledge was home growing up and now we call Holt our home.

Get to know me in five fast facts:

  1. Everything is my life is either black or neutral colored. My favorite color is black and my favorite decor colors are gray and beige.
  2. I am a reality TV junkie. Give me Bravo or E! and I am a happy lady.
  3. I live on coffee and it either has to be piping hot or have extra ice, there’s no in-between.
  4. When I was just out of high school, I sent in a VHS audition tape (yes, I’m aging myself) to be on the Real World and made it a few rounds into the process.
  5. I absolutely love going to concerts and outdoor country concerts are my all time favorite.

My Family

My husband is also a Lansing native and has been in the area his entire life. We met through a mutual friend the night before Thanksgiving at the Nuthouse in downtown Lansing. We had our first date during a blizzard, which we should never have been out driving in, at Cheddar’s and less than a year later we were engaged. This year we have been married for 10 years and have been together for 12.

Our road to children was more challenging and longer than expected as we traveled the road of infertility with our first. We tried for 40 months with many doctors visits, trips to infertility clinics, procedures, medication, shots, and tests.

As we approached month 40, we decided IVF was going to be our only hope. We put the deposit down, had a plan, and by the grace of God, got pregnant on our own that very month. Our daughter is and will always be our sweet miracle girl.

The road to our girl was long and I couldn’t bear the road again so another child was never a thought or in our plans. Fast forward three years to March 2020 and one week after the world shut down…SURPRISE!! Our second miracle was on his way!

The journey was long but we are so lucky to have our sweet, spunky, dancing queen five-year-old daughter, Henley, and our daredevil, loving, spontaneous two-year-old son Austin.

My family loves the outdoors and if it is not down pouring rain or absolutely frigid, we are outside. We love hiking through the woods on my husband’s grandfather’s property, going fishing on our boat, biking in our neighborhood, and playing in our outside kitchen. But our favorite is traveling north to Gaylord to spend time at my in-laws’ cottage on the lake and spending every second of the summer we can on the beach at the lake.

About Me!

I currently work for Dart Container as an Account Manager and have been employed there for nine years. I started my career there at an entry-level position in the accounts receivable department, moved up to a department supervisor, and recently moved into my newest position as an Account Manager where I manage some of our largest accounts. Also, I have a “side hustle” with Farmasi that has brought me so much joy and has helped me find my passion for doing makeup and helping women look and feel their best.

When I am not busy with my top three priorities of being a wife, mom, and working, you will catch me doing some of my favorite things and ALWAYS with a coffee in my hand. I enjoy shopping the clearance rack, doing makeup, reading, live music, and a really good hard seltzer. And I love doing all of the above with my amazing groups of girlfriends who I have shared life’s journey with for over almost two decades.

I am so happy to be here and to share the #reedpartyoffour with Lansing Mom. We are a little wild and crazy, we love adventure, and always try to have the best time. Can’t wait to share the adventure and coffee with you all!
