Greater Lansing Area Top Take-Out Curbside Options

The locally owned eateries that have graced Lansing with their deliciousness have to be creative with how they can still serve their customers. Yes, we need to participate in social distancing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do that while still supporting local eateries. With that said, I have comprised a list of go-to places, for you, when you are craving your next meal, and need an excuse to leave the house. You will not only be helping your sanity, but also contributing to the stability of your local economy by heading out for take-out.

Schuler’s Books and Music

It doesn’t sound like a restaurant, but Schuler’s, has a cafe featuring delicious items such as wraps, quiches, salads, coffees, and several baked items. Since this is also a book store, they are now offering curbside food and book deliveries. You can literally order a book and a meal to be dropped off to your car window. Let’s be honest, with all this extra time at home, a book to get lost in, may do us all some good. Location: Okemos.

Groovy Donuts

Restaurants aren’t the only ones taking a hit. Lansing has many delicious bakeries that are making themselves accessible. Groovy Donuts will deliver donuts to your car window. All you have to do is call ahead. I may be working from home, but that won’t stop me from getting a morning donut to start my day. Location: East Lansing and Williamston.

Bakeries with Take-Out or Curbside:

Detroit Frankie’s Woodfired Pizza

Lansing just got a new pizza place that is a hit! Detroit Frankie’s offers carryout so you can still have pizza night. I have heard so many good things about this place and how can you go wrong with pizza? Location: Lansing West Side.

 ConfluxCity Brewing Company

I think we could all use a drink, am I right? Luckily our local breweries are helping make that happen. ConfluxCity offers curbside service when you call ahead. I saw rib tacos on their menu too, so be sure to check out the food. Location: Portland.

Support Local

Below are more options for you to venture to, while still maintaining distance, of course:

Okay friends, you now have something to look forward to. Even if you can commit to doing this once a week, it will go a long way. We don’t want this all to pass, and the businesses that have made Lansing who we are, disappear. Each establishment has staff that needs income, has rent to cover, and a business to maintain. Now go wash your hands, stop buying all the toilet paper, and support local businesses.

Have a business to add to this list? Please email [email protected] and we will update  for our community!

Jessica Walter
I am a working mom who left the education world after 7 years to pursue my business career. I work as a product developer at a local insurance company and love it. My husband and sons are my world. We struggled for 3 years with fertility prior to adopting our first son. Later, we really wanted him to have a sibling so pursued IVF using donor embryos (because we firmly believe love makes a family) and were then blessed with our second son. When I’m not working or playing the wife/mom role, I love to run, read, bake, write, and tinker with photography. We all have a story to share and I hope some of my experiences will help others.
