Top 5 Places to Eat in Old Town

One of my family’s favorite things to do during the warmer summer months is to find a great place to eat. We’ve tried a lot of different places over the years but some of our favorites are right in our backyard in Old Town. If you’re ready to to explore some local restaurants and dig in on some yummy eats, be sure to check out these places next time you’re headed to Old Town.

Meat BBQ

This infamous restaurant was featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and is a must for your next barbecue craving. My family frequents this eatery that’s filled with rock memorabilia. My go-to is the chopped brisket sandwich which makes my taste buds sing. It’s good to plan ahead because there can be long wait times on the weekend and they do not take reservations. Also, once their meat is sold out, it’s sold out for the day.

The Creole Burger Bar & Southern Kitchen

Southern cooking at its best in Lansing! We love going to The Creole for brunch on the weekends. Their menu tends to change sessionally but staples like the chicken biscuit, I hope, will never go. They have a small patio which is perfect for your next girls’ bunch or drink meet up with crafty cocktails.

Cravings Gourmet Popcorn

I adore popcorn. What’s not to love about a places where popcorn is the main feature? They have a huge variety of flavors and I guarantee you’ll find a new favorite. I like to take my littles here after a nice stroll through Old Town and walking along the Grand River.

Sir Pizza

One of the few restaurants that is waterfront on the Grand River, this pizza parlor surely should be on your list. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday there, and had a nice, laid back atmosphere.

Arctic Corner

Last but certainly not least is this local ice cream favorite. There tends to be a line during the weekends, but it is well worth the wait. Their soft serve is so delicious. To me, it really taste like Summer.

I hope that you take the time to visit one or all of these local places. Let’s keep Old Town thriving. Cheers to Summer!
