Meet the BeneGuides Team
BeneGuides’ staff is only moms, which is why they know how much goes into navigating health insurance and motherhood! Justine is the founder, mother of a nine-year-old son. Samantha (Sam) is the Employee Benefits Enrollment Guide and has two daughters, 13 and 15. Liz is the Marketplace Enrollment Guide and the mother of a six year old son, now a first grader! Lauren is the Medicare Enrollment Guide and is a mother to three – two teenage daughters, 17 and 15, and a 13-year-old son.
Options Offered by BeneGuides for those looking for Health Insurance
BeneGuides handles all three branches of health insurance!
- Liz the Marketplace Enrollment Guide, helps individuals and families who are not Medicare eligible find coverage. Many of these types of clients are enrolled on the Marketplace, but BeneGuides also has access to private, full-price non-Marketplace plans if the client prefers.
- Lauren, is the Medicare Enrollment Guide, she helps people who are over 65 or have certain disabilities find Medicare plans.
- Samantha (Sam) is the Employee Benefits Enrollment Guide, she handles everything small business related.
The BeneGuides Team all works really closely together, so someone might call us for family coverage and then end up needing a small group plan instead, or be moving from small group to Medicare, and we work hard to help guide our clients and make everything a seamless handoff.
Reasons someone might seek assistance for family coverage
Health Insurance can be really scary. Statistically it’s one of the top five costs for a household, and the one that is least understood. At BeneGuides, we’re 100% education based. If you have questions about what plans are available, how to sign up, what the cost would be, we’re always here to answer them. Working with us is completely free, just like your home/auto insurance agent, and we’re always happy to help.
We do find that most of the time it’s the mom who is seeking out coverage for the household, which is great because she is also usually the one who knows the names of the kid’s doctors and medications. And we love it, because we’re all moms too, so we can chat about our kids ages, schools, bad habits, whatever, before we get down to business. We think that knowing what you’re going through (because we’re going through it too!) is really helpful.
Also, because we’re all getting “sandwiched” now, often we’re the main points of contact for our parents’ coverage too. This open enrollment has some pretty significant changes for Medicare, and we’re happy to answer questions about that as well.
How BeneGuides is helping Moms to navigate the Marketplace
BeneGuides starts with four basic questions:
- What is your home zip code and county?
- What is the size of your (tax) household, what are their ages, and are we covering them all?
- Are there any providers or prescriptions that are important to you that we need to take into account?
- What is your household income? This can be a tough one, so if it’s difficult to predict, we can also work with a minimum and a maximum – it’ll likely be no less than X and no more than Y.
After that, the BeneGuides Team takes all of your information and puts it into a quote. There are a LOT of plans available in each zip code, but some specific ones that we know are good, so we’ll start with those. We always tell our clients that there are a lot of different options, and sometimes we’ll do a few different quotes before we find the one that they like the best.
Then, if/when we find a plan that fits, we can help with the sign-up if the client would like us to. We reach out to all of our clients every year during open enrollment and help them re-enroll, so once you work with us you never have to handle that by yourself – we’ll always be here to help if you want us!
Keeping Your Current Pediatrician and Doctors
If a Mom is looking to keep her current pediatrician or doctors, BeneGuides is here to help. Our team always wants to know what is important to our clients in regards to doctors and prescriptions. We’ll show you what providers participate with which plans, and talk about what that does to the cost of the plan. We try to avoid surprises as much as we can!
Dental and Vision Coverage
Most health insurance/major medical plans don’t cover dental and vision, so that will be separate, but we can help you find the right plan. If you go to the BeneGuides website, www.beneguides.com, you can quote dental and vision directly, if you prefer to handle this yourself. We can alway chat about it, provide you quotes directly, and make sure that we get all of your questions answered! We’re totally flexible to the individual clients needs.
How can a Mom set up an appointment with BeneGuides?
Our office phone number is 517-939-1981, or you can reach us by email at [email protected]. You can also go to our website, which is www.beneguides.com and find the type of coverage you have questions about and book a Calendly appointment directly from there. We usually schedule our clients for an hour, but most don’t take that long. We just want to make sure that we have time to get all of their questions answered.
