Go Out For Girls Night in Lansing This Fall

I had two babies in the past four years, which made life wonderfully busy. Amidst the beautiful, messy, and noisy days parenting toddlers, there are some things I missed. One of those things is spending time with my girl friends. This fall, I’m making it a goal to do more with my friends by planning a girls night out – maybe you should, too!
Not sure where to start? Here are a few ideas to help inspire you to go on a girls night out in Lansing!

For the Sporty Spice of the Group

Start your evening supporting the Michigan State University Ice Hockey team. I’m not an athletic person by any means, but I do enjoy the music, snacks, and group cheers at a game. The Munn Ice Arena is newly renovated and there are lots of games on their schedule, so you can work with your friend groups’ crazy calendars. Check out the game schedule, beginning in October.
After cheering the Spartans to victory on the ice, walk over to The Peanut Barrel in East Lansing. Enjoy a cool fall evening on the patio with one or two of their famous Long Island Iced Teas.

For the Artists and Thinkers

If you haven’t been to Hooked yet, you simply must add this to your girls night plans! Hooked is a new bookstore in Lansing with its own wine bar and coffee shop. This would even work as a girls night with kids, as you can chat over wine and coffee while the kids play and read in the children’s section.
After you are all caffeinated – and your to-be-read pile has grown – head over to the Wheel House Studio in Reo Town for a private pottery lesson. You can schedule a private lesson for two on the Wheel House website.

For the Ladies Who Love Fall Most of All

Everyone loves a good cider mill trip, so why not make that a girls night activity? Check out Uncle John’s Cider Mill in St. Johns for live music, hard cider tasting, and more. Of course you can also grab some donuts and cider to take home for the family while you’re there.
After enjoying a crisp fall afternoon at the cider mill, stop in Dewitt on the way home for some grown up, gourmet desserts at Bridge Street Social.

For the Friends Always Up for an Adventure

Wear your leggings and comfy shoes and head to Fitzgerald Park in Grand Ledge. You can catch up on life while you hike along the gorgeous ledges. This hidden gem of the Lansing area looks the best in the fall!

After taking in the sights and some fresh air, head to Horrocks Farm Market in Lansing. Keep that adventurous spirit going with some new snacks — mango sticky rice from Eato Chef or pistachio gelato from Iorio’s Gelato, both on the grounds of this unique market.  You can even grab a few groceries before you head home.

I hope these ideas for a girl’s night out give you the inspiration you need to call an old friend and make a plan to get together. No matter what activities you choose, friendship is important and we need each other.
